WHY IT IS UNFIT TO LIVE IN THE USA:
INCREASING CRIMES & GUN VIOLENCE
America, a land of opportunity famously known as the “self acclaimed” greatest nation on earth, is infamous for its uncontrollable crime. With the current scenario of increasing crime in the states, it is safe to say that America is not having a crime wave; rather, it has a violence wave. In the words of crime expert at Duke University, Philip Cook, “There was no crime wave—there was a tsunami of lethal violence, and that’s it.”
Crimes vary according to nature, occurrence, victim, and the U.S. is not alien to any of these types of crime. Below are the types of crimes recognized by the law and legal code:
a) Crimes against a person (personal crime)
It includes murders, rapes, robbery, aggravated assaults, etc. these types of crimes are unevenly distributed in America.
In 2020, the district of Columbia ranked first in violent crime rate in the states, having 999.8 Violent crimes per 100,000 population, and Maine has the lowest rank with 108.6 crimes per 100,000 of the population. It also shows how crime differs in the U.S. geographically.
b) Crimes against property
Crimes involving theft such as burglary, arson, larceny (most common), etc., these types of crimes do not include bodily harm.
Property crime outnumbered violent crimes in the U.S. in 2020, accounting for 6.45 million versus 1.31 million.
Compared to 2019, where property crime stood at 2109.0 and violent crime at 379.4 per 100,000 people. In 2020, property crime dropped to 1958.2 but was compensated with the increased violent crime as it rose to 398.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
c) Hate crimes
Crimes based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, etc. These types of crime have seen a constant yearly rise in the states.
d) Crimes against morality (victimless crimes)
It includes prostitution, drugs, gambling, etc. It is called victimless crime as it does not involve a complainant or a victim.
e) White-collar crime
It includes accounts manipulation (embezzlement), insider trading, tax evasion, violation of income tax, etc. These types of crimes are not given enough light, but these are more consequential for society. The financial crisis of 2008 can be seen as the compounded white-collar crime that took place in the home mortgage and securities industry.
f) Organized crime
It includes groups or organizations that control over illegal trading of drugs, weapons, gambling, money laundering, prostitution, etc.
If we take a closer look at American history, we'll realize that America was never the greatest country in the world. We had a few moments when the U.S. were the “greatest”, but today America is only seen saving the world in Hollywood rather than in reality. To summarize, we can say, America on the reel is different from real America, where every year more than 800,000 children are being kidnapped - which makes the U.S. the No. 1 country in child abductions across the world.
According to research, about 74% of Americans feel there is more crime in the U.S. now (2021) than a year ago (2020).

AMERICA’S GUN CULTURE
A major contender for increasing crime in America is its weak gun laws. In 2020, over 74,000 aggravated assaults were registered where personal weapons (hands, fists, and feet) were used and around 70,000 aggravated assaults where handguns were involved.
The year 2020 recorded the most cases of aggravated assaults with numbers totalling up to 113,646 belonging to California, and next in chronological sequence came to Texas with 88,810 reported cases.
AMERICA: A LAND OF EXTREMES AND MASS SHOOTING
US cities rank among the deadliest cities in the world. In 2012, New Orleans topped the list; it has one homicide for every 2000 residents. To better understand this number, in the U.S., the average homicide rate is 4.8 per 100,000 inhabitants, which means you're 10 times more likely to be the victim of a homicide in New Orleans than America as a whole.
In the United States, the year 2020 saw a substantial increase in homicides where firearms were involved. A jump from 10,537 (in 2019) to over 13,600 was recorded.
Mass shootings are incidents involving multiple victims of firearm-related violence. In the United States, mass shootings are disturbingly common, and their frequency has tripled since 2011. According to a 2021 study, California witnessed 22 mass shootings since 1982, most of America's states. Below shown is the worst mass shooting in the United States since 1982.
Factors contributing to the increasing gun violence:
Several factors collectively make America's environment fertile for Gun culture and mass murders:
a) Lax gun laws and Failure on the part of the government
According to the constitution of WE THE PEOPLE, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Within the United States, 18-year-old can purchase a shotgun, rifle and ammunition and being over 21 years allows you to purchase all other firearms.
Although guns are "ONLY" sold through licensed dealers, they must do a background check on the purchaser. But "gun show loophole" allows people to purchase firearms from the flea market, online markets, personal collectors, gun shows, etc.
An incomplete database is also responsible for low data points for a thorough background check.
The 2nd amendment of the constitution protects the right to own a gun, and changing the gun laws in the U.S. is highly controversial and partisan.
b) Accessibility and ownership of guns
The U.S. has the highest per-capita gun ownership in the world, with 120.5 firearms per 100 people. A recent study concluded that out of 124 mass shootings that happened in the united states between 1982 and 2021, shooters of 83 of those incidents had legally obtained firearms.
c) Mental illness
d) Desire to seek revenge
e) Desire for notoriety
“Media contagion" social media or a sect of media tends to glorify shooters, which encourage more people to participate in mass shooting.
f) Copycat phenomenon
In extension to the above point, media coverage of mass shootings increases the chances of replication. Previous shooters have become an inspiration, and their fame has become a source of motivation.
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION?
According to Former President Donald J. Trump's book, "The America We Deserve," he said, "The next time you hear someone saying there are too many people in prison, ask them how many thugs they’re willing to relocate to their neighborhood. The answer: none.” The United States believes in the incarnation, and prison is the solution against increasing crime. As a result, 70% of convictions result in confinement, far more than any other developed country. You'll be shocked to know that the U.S. alone holds 30% of the world's incarcerated women. By no wonder, it is called the "world's prison capital." But it isn’t a wise response to the increasing homicide and violent crimes.
The question we need to ask is, "is there anything we can do to protect ourselves and our family?" we probably know the answer to it too. There is very little we can do to combat a situation in which even the government fails; the easiest and appropriate solution to this is to move you, your assets and your family to a stable, tax exempt and harmonious country in the Caribbean.
